Adopted Dog Escapes His New Homes And Returns To The Same Shelter 11 Times

 Dogs who have spent their days in shelters live a life when their only desire is to be adopted by someone and to have their own home and family.
When a dog finds a forever home and gets adopted it means the shelter will never see them again, but that's a good thing because when shelters again see dogs that have already found a home it means they were returned and something went terribly wrong.

He met Gumby, a sweet beagle about 3 or 4 years old, who was friendly and energetic and the chances of finding a forever home were very good.
The dog was rescued from the streets and sent to the Charleston Animal Society in South Carolina, a no-kill shelter, and when the staff met Gumby they were sure he would be adopted without any problems.

Three days after the adoption, the family returned the poor dog to the shelter for no good reason, but the shelter would not give up. They knew he could be adopted back and he did but was given back only 6 days later.

Poor Gumby had been adopted several times, and every time he thought he had now found his family, he kept being taken back, so what was happening?
The puzzle was eventually sold.

Gumby is a master escape dog which is where he got the name. The more the shelter staff thought about it the more they realized he was amazing at escaping and perhaps the best among his canine friends. Their suspicions turned out to be correct after they brought in Donya Satreal, an animal behaviorist.

According to Donya, the cute dog felt like he had to help other frightened animals at the shelter or the dog simply had work to do and wanted to be there and calm the dogs that were anxious.

The shelter he kept coming back to became his forever home after they saw he wouldn't stop coming back, and now he plays with and cares for more than 50 animals there who need love and comfort.
The cute dog was featured in the shelter's annual fundraiser!

They sell a firefighter calendar in Charleston every year, and Gumby was the fire dog featured alongside the firefighters, obviously a lucky dog.
