A young homeless dog was observed hiding behind a wall on the streets of South Los Angeles for days. The dog was injured in a hit-and-run accident and was in agony for several hours. Finally someone called Hart Rescue to save the grieving animal.
The dog on the ground appeared trembling and defenseless when rescuer Annie Hart arrived, prompting Hart to name the dog Layla. When Hart approached Laila with kind words, she initially backed away because she was afraid of people; However, after a few minutes, Layla warmed up to her new companion.
Annie reassured Lila that she was safe and continued to embrace her. Once Laila was convinced of Annie's sincerity, she jumped into her arms and kissed her!
Annie was shocked when she learned from the hospital that Layla's intestines had been affected and that she was in a serious condition. Laila's body did not show any sign of healing for the next two weeks. However, thanks to Annie's calm presence and her new foster parents, Lila recovers.
