Meet Buck! We knew he had been shot multiple times with a rifle, but we had no idea how cute the little boy was.
It just wags its tail at anything and everything, even with a cut on its face by a human. The dog's resilience is truly amazing.
“We took him to Fergie 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a scan. They repeated the .
“We hope whoever shot this precious baby will see that he is alive and well now!”
"Someone tried to destroy this dog with a rifle for whatever reason, and they clearly failed. We will commemorate this failed endeavor by providing Buck with the best possible new life and the best chance at a full recovery."
Even if we can never find out who shot that defenseless dog, we can get justice for Buck in other ways, like ensuring it never happens again.
Buck was shot and has more than 200 gunshot wounds to his body, most of them to his face. The vet doesn't think he needs major facial reconstructive surgery, but he thinks he could benefit from some simple procedures to help bring the tissues together.
What's even more serious is that his lip will not grow back normally. He is doing great in his foster home! Thank you everyone for your love and support!
It is in amazingly good condition after 20 days and despite someone's failed attempt to destroy it. His face is recovering well, still limping slightly, but he acts as if nothing happened.
Fortunately, Buck seemed unfazed by the tragic incident, which shows how resilient and stubborn canines are.
The first intention was to wait two weeks to determine whether he had a muscle limp or whether the ball had gotten stuck in his joint.
“His limp should have improved by now, but since it hasn't, we'll likely have a CT scan this week. If the pellet settles, he may need surgery.
Buck's face is still healing well more than 24 days later. Soon, you won't be able to tell he was shot in the face. He saw doctors again this week, who deemed a CT scan unnecessary at this time, but are still monitoring his limp and expect it to improve.
He is now preparing for neutering and heartworm treatment. He's one step away from discovering his real family!
Day 30: Buck has received so many love gifts!
Although he quickly destroys them, the toys make him very happy!
Buck is about to start heartworm treatment and has a family waiting for his treatment to finish.
Buck, on the other hand, has recovered after more than four months and is now stronger than ever. He is preparing to travel to his new happy family.
Look at his huge smiles! Thank you all for your support!
