On March 17, Antone's Animal Rescue received a call about a pregnant dog in Coronado. She is about to give birth but has been abandoned for a few days. Some kind people gave her food but many of them turned her away so she had to hide herself in a field next to the highway breathing heavily, her puppies and herself in danger.
Fortunately a nice lady saw her and called Animal Rescue Of Anton for help. When the rescue team arrived and approached her, she fled. She couldn't run that fast but they didn't want to panic her.
They followed her gently, and she got tired and lay down. Then they tried to lure her into the cage with food. Fortunately, it worked, so they quickly grabbed the cage and tried to calm her down. She seemed fine and didn't really panic in the cage.
The doctor said that she was only a few days away from giving birth. Fortunately, an ultrasound revealed that her fetuses were all healthy, and at least 10 of them were on their way to life. It's a little smaller than usual but it should be okay.
Her hip was slightly misaligned and she developed a severe parasitic infection. They first have to remove all the parasites they can see, then give her a medicated wash to avoid contamination again. She was well behaved and not aggressive at all.
Everything was ready, and she was a little apprehensive that night. She has had 11 puppies, all of them have succeeded, and they are absolutely adorable.
Their babies were born on March 22nd and we couldn't be more in love, they are 6 boys and 5 girls.
