Ruby the Pup was slated to be put down because it was "unacceptable". She becomes a K9 officer and after 7 years, unknowingly ends up helping the woman she fought to keep alive...
Intelligent dogs often display fidgeting and uncontrollable behavior as puppies. Such was the case with Ruby, an Australian Shepherd puppy. The shelter described her as unadoptable and ready to be euthanized. Patricia Inman, a dog trainer, intervened and begged for Ruby's life just two hours before she was put down.
Patricia thought a talented dog like Robbie would fit in well with the K9 squad. Ruby is accepted into the K9 training program as a result of her efforts. Her therapist, Daniel O'Neill, had a lot of struggles with her throughout the training. On the other hand, Ruby has become a force to be reckoned with after settling into a stable and loving home!
Robbie and Daniel solved numerous missing person cases and saved countless lives over the course of seven years. They receive a call one day about a young man who has been missing for 24 hours. The family was in great trouble. Ruby eventually discovers the missing young man unconscious in the bush. The teenager suffered a concussion and was taken to the hospital just in time to be rescued.
Officer Daniel was surprised to learn of the boy's mother when she came to thank him afterwards. Patricia, the trainer who rescued Robbie as a puppy, was the boy's mom! Daniel tells her that Ruby is the K9 that saved her son's life. Patricia was crying as she tried to make sense of this coincidence. Her kind and humble act saved her son's life 7 years ago! What a marvel!
